Riddle 1

In order to understand what these figures correspond to, you had to add the different distances noted on the orientation table in the following way, relying on the number of dotted lines represented on the graph in your notebook:
North: 460 + 49 + 19 + 29 + 9.6 + 18 + 176 + 142 = 902.6
N-E: 32 + 295 + 40 + 20 + 115 + 88 + 9.7 + 8 + 4.5 = 612.2
East: 10.4 + 53 + 7.2 + 105 + 358 + 17.5 + 69 = 620.1
SOUTH-EAST: 10 + 38 + 109 + 102 + 33 + 6.8 + 128 = 426.8
South: 80 + 81 + 12.5 + 7.2 + 85 + 43 = 308.7
SW: 12 + 6 + 3.4 + 6 + 6 + 2 = 35.4
West: 9.8 + 157 + 72 + 1 + 13 + 15.2 + 37 + 3.5 + 72 + 12.5 = 393
NORTH-WEST: 37 + 21 + 6 +7.2 + 9.6 + 2.8 + 11.6 + 1.7 + 121 = 220.4
Once you had made the link between the distances and these figures, you had to put the figures in ascending order: 35.4 < 220.4 < 308.7 < 393 < 420 < 612.1 < 620.1 < 902.6
The number to find is 620.1, the territory representing the East. This means that the plant cannot be in territory 8.

Riddle 2

To decode this message you had to understand that each pair of numbers represented a line number and a letter number. For example 1-15 = line 1 and letter 15, i.e. letter B. This gave you the message “No ewes”. You therefore had to deduce that territory 3, where the Caussenarde ewe was located, was not the one you were looking for.

Riddle 3

The message to be translated was “altitude greater than one hundred and fifty-five metres”. This meant that all territories at altitudes below one hundred and fifty-five metres had to be eliminated, i.e. territory 6 at an altitude of 100m.

Riddle 4

Once back down on the tour of the town, you should head up the main street. Along it are the following shops and restaurants: Casino, O’Bistrot, Godard, Lo Vinotier, D’un monde à l’autre, Le Petit Bouchon, Le Pot Occitan, Le Central and Le Renard Bleu. Once you’d found all these places and written down their names, all you had to do was use the code, similar to that in puzzle 2, with the first number = the first place, the second number = the letter to be found in the name. You then had to find the following letters: d, e, a, p, u, n, o, t, i and then form the word group “watering place”.
You then understood that the plant was located in a territory consisting of a watering place and that, consequently, it could not be in territories 4 and 5, whose physical characteristic is the field.

Riddle 5

Another message to decode, this time it was a past exchange between the botanist and a colleague! The message to find was: “This is an unprecedented discovery! This flower will save the population”.
The botanist was talking about a flower! So it’s a flower that filters the air! So you’re deleting the territories where we can’t find a flower, i.e. territories 1, 2 and 7, but you then had no more possible territories. How is this possible? You need to continue your research to understand this!

Puzzle 6

My first is to the left of the Tourist Office entrance door: a map
My second is “tu” with a “neud”: te
My third is Latin for water: aqua
My fourth is “pique” with a “thé”: pique
Ah! Now you’ve been told that the plant you’re looking for is an aquatic plant? Erm… What does that mean? Are territories 1, 2 and 7 still in the running? It’s up to you! It’s still not clear…

Riddle 7

Ah, another message! Perhaps you’ll be able to understand better what the botanist was talking about with his colleague?
To decode this message, you had to understand that “blackcurrant”… K = 6 ! From there, it’s up to you to work out the alphabet again… A – 22 / B – 23 / C – 24 / D – 25 / E – 26 / F – 1 / G – 2 / H – 3 / I – 4 / J – 5 / K – 6 / L – 7 / M – 8 / N – 9 / O – 10 / P – 11 / Q – 12 / R – 13 / S – 14 / T – 15 / U – 16 / V – 17 / W – 18 / X – 19 / Y – 20 / Z – 21
Using this alphabet, you could decipher the following message: “Let’s warn our colleagues. This flower will cure our illness!
Illness? What illness? Doesn’t the plant have to filter the air? Well, maybe you’re on the wrong track… Your colleagues could have avoided wasting your time… But hey, nobody’s perfect 😉 So you shouldn’t have considered riddle 5: the plant you’re looking for isn’t a flower but an aquatic plant! But is it an algae or a micro-algae?

Riddle 8

The information transmitted by the station should have told you! When you found the scales next to La Promenade restaurant, you had to find the following weights: 6,000 and 250. Divide 6,000 by 250 and you’ll find 24, a figure between 20 and 30. You could then deduce that the plant is 24 mg and is therefore a micro-algae! You could therefore delete territory number 1, where we only find trees and algae.

Riddle 9

Finally, the last enigma! And what an enigma it was! Observation and analysis were key! Once you arrived in the Rue des Consuls, you had to find a key to understanding the city. You had to keep your eyes peeled! You had to find the gateway to the Gardens and the Seneschal’s House. But even once you’d found the clue, you still had to understand its logic! The House of the Sénéchal is the anagram of one of the micro-algae! Déanuls an Choisèm! So this is the plant we’re looking for!
Well done, you’ve solved the riddles and the station can now be repaired!
