Learn to fish, understand nature.

With rod in hand, feet in the grass and eyes on the water… Nature Fishing Workshops invite children to discover the simple pleasures of fishing, while learning more about the aquatic world around them. It’s a great way to spend some time in the fresh air, with games involving observation, technical skills and respect for nature.

Gourdon fishing workshop

Romain

I'm in charge of development, animation and communication at the Lot Fishing Federation, and above all I'm a great enthusiast!

Quiet, it's biting!

A fun and educational event on the water's edge

All summer long, the Pays de Gourdon, entre Lot & Dordogne Tourist Office, in partnership with the Lot Fishing Federation and volunteers from the Gourdon Fishing School (AAPPMA), is offering workshops led by fishing enthusiasts.

🎣 On the programme:
Introduction to different fishing techniques (jigging, casting, fly fishing, etc.)
Learn the basic techniques: setting up a line, tying a knot, placing bait, etc.
Learn to respect aquatic fauna and natural environments
Fun discovery of aquatic life: fish, insects, larvae, plants, etc.
The workshop also focuses on safety, independence and responsible fishing.

A gentle first step into nature
More than just a pastime, fishing here becomes a gateway to a better understanding of our environment. Between two catches (or attempts!), children learn to observe, listen and above all… to respect wildlife. A great way to reconnect with what’s essential, in a soothing setting between the Lot and the Dordogne.
