Natural Area Sensitive
Listed as a sensitive natural area, the valley is home to one of the largest wetlands in the département.
Reed beds mingle with peat bogs, wet woods and natural meadows.
This unspoilt environment, punctuated by wooden footbridges, offers a sensitive discovery of the local biodiversity: wild orchids, dragonflies, rare butterflies, water birds and marbled newts. But here, nature also coexists with the memory of the place: iron mills, low limestone and “ironstone” walls, ancient chapels and listed altarpieces tell another story, that of a discreet and precious rural heritage.
A place to explore gently, to reconnect with what’s essential.
