Pumpkin or “Millas” cake Ajouter aux favoris

My grandmother shared this recipe with me years ago, and it’s a real pleasure to enjoy by the fire!

Ingredients Serves 6 to 8

  • 750 g pumpkin flesh
  • ½ litre milk
  • 200 g sugar
  • 200 g flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 sachet yeast
  • 2 tablespoons fat (oil or melted butter)
  • Optional: rum or brandy

Preparation

01Cooking in a saucepan
  • Place the pumpkin, cut into small pieces, in a large saucepan and add the milk and sugar. Cook for 20 minutes.
02Rest
  • Leave to cool. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 230°C.
3Final ingredients
  • Once the mixture is warm, add the eggs, flour, baking powder and fat. Mix well.
4Oven cooking
  • Pour into a buttered tin, turn the oven down to 210°C and bake for 45 minutes.
03Enjoy warm!
