Our commitments and values

Our commitments and values

Collective commitments to serve the region

Ideas to take away, stories to share…

A quality welcome for everyone, all year round quite simply

In a rural area like ours, a warm welcome is essential. It means listening, taking your time and adapting the information to your individual needs. Classified as Category II, the Pays de Gourdon, entre Lot & Dordogne Tourist Office works on a daily basis to offer a consistent, reliable and human service in all three of its reception offices (Cazals, Gourdon, Salviac).

Our commitment to the Destination D’Excellence™ approach is based on a shared desire:
– to guarantee visitor satisfaction,
– to promote the professionalism of our team,
– ensure the consistency of our services across the 35 communes in the area,
– strengthen our links with local residents, service providers and elected representatives.
It’s a dynamic that we carry forward together, season after season.

Tourism & Disability: a fairer, clearer welcome

Since April 2024, the Gourdon tourist information office has held the Tourism & Handicap label for all four disabilities (motor, visual, hearing and mental). This label rewards the hard work carried out by the team to make information and discovery accessible to all.

Our concrete actions :
– adapted documents (Braille, large print, FALC, drawings in relief),
– video in LSF and audio guides for tours of the medieval city,
– magnetic loop at reception,
– staff training, including two people trained in French sign language.

The other offices have not been awarded the label, but we are making every effort to offer a warm and attentive welcome in each of them.

A CSR approach for more sustainable tourism

For over 10 years, the Tourist Office has been committed to a voluntary environmental policy. In 2020, we have decided to go one step further by adopting a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach.

In practical terms, this means that we are taking action to reduce our impact on the environment, enhance our social usefulness and promote tourism that respects people and the region.
Sorting, energy saving, responsible choices, local partnerships, well-being at work, accessibility of content…
Every gesture counts, and we put them into practice every day.

A committed team, a vibrant region

Over and above the procedures and labels, what counts for us is the sense of public service and the human value of a warm welcome. Whether you’re a visitor, a local resident or a project developer, you’ll find a team here that listens, that knows the area and the people involved, and that works to promote tourism on a human scale, across the 35 communes of the Pays de Gourdon.

Frequently asked questions
  • What does it mean to be in category II?

This guarantees a certain level of service: extended opening hours, an up-to-date website, trained staff, multilingual documentation, a specially adapted welcome, etc. This classification, awarded by the Prefecture, reflects our desire to offer reliable and consistent support throughout the country.

  • What are you proposing in practical terms to make tourism more sustainable?

We apply simple but concrete measures: sorting waste, printing sensibly, choosing local and committed partners, reducing energy consumption, helping visitors to adopt more environmentally-friendly practices (cycling, car-pooling, short circuits, etc.). Our CSR approach structures all this on a daily basis. We are also inviting and raising awareness among the destination’s tourism industry.

  • Can I pass on an opinion, comment or suggestion?

Yes, we’d love to. You can write to us, call us, or fill in a satisfaction form available in every office. Your feedback will help us to improve our quality approach and better meet your expectations.
